10 seconds. Your real friends. Nothing that wastes your time. No like counts, no follower counts, no infinite scroll.

Flair is a social app for people who want to share small moments with the people who actually matter to them. Every note is a 10-second video and you choose who sees it: the world, your friends, a close circle, or no one but yourself. The only social actions are repost, comment, share, and private reactions only the creator sees. No like counts, no follower counts, no public numbers anywhere. When you've seen everything, the app tells you so. Then it lets you leave.
What's different
10 seconds, nothing more
Every note is capped at 10 seconds. No setup time. No room for anything but the moment itself.
No public numbers, anywhere
No like counts, no follower counts, no view counts. The only social actions are repost, comment, share, and private reactions only the creator sees.
The feed ends
When you've seen everything from your friends, the app tells you. No infinite scroll to keep you hooked.
A break after 60 minutes
After an hour of use in a day, Flair offers a timed break with a clear moment to stop.
Four levels of privacy
Post publicly, to friends, to a close friends list, or just for yourself. Your choice, every time.
Friends, not followers
The friends feed is notes from people you follow, newest first. Not a ranked mix designed to keep you scrolling.
Honest by design
No fake notifications. No engagement bait. No dark patterns. A product that respects your time because it was built that way from day one.
Why we're building this
Most social apps are built to keep you scrolling. Every design decision is optimised to hold your attention as long as possible. We think that's the wrong goal. Flair is built around a different one: you open it, you see what your friends are up to, and you leave feeling good about the time you spent. That's it. That's the whole brief.
Research
We published a literature review on engagement-optimised platforms, dark patterns, and what privacy-first design can look like in practice — including Flair as a case study.
