FAQ
What is Flair?
Flair is a short-video app. Every note is capped at 10 seconds. There are no public likes and no public follower counts. You choose who can see each note: Public, Friends, Close friends, or Just me.
Who runs Flair?
Anwar Syed Ali, a sole trader in Birmingham, United Kingdom, trading as Flair. When a company is registered, the legal pages will be updated.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 13 or older. Age is self-declared today. The UK has said it intends to restrict social media for under-16s; the exact rules are still being written. We will put in place whatever age-assurance or access controls the law requires before those rules apply, then update these pages.
Is Flair free? Are there ads or in-app purchases?
Yes, it is free. There are no ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases at launch. If that changes, we will update the Terms and Privacy Policy first.
Who can see my notes?
Public — anyone on Flair, including For You and Explore, and it can be shared as a link.
Friends — only people you have added and who have added you back.
Close friends — only people on a list you pick. They are not told they are on it.
Just me — only you.
The Friends feed tab is different: it shows public notes from people you follow, even if they have not added you back. Friends-tier notes still need a mutual follow.
Do you upload my contacts?
Only if you tap Find friends from contacts. The feature is optional and never required to use Flair. It shows which of your contacts already have an account so you can add them. We do not publish your address book, and we do not create profiles for people who are not on Flair. See the Privacy Policy.
Where is my data stored? Do you sell it?
Account data is stored in the United Kingdom (London) with Supabase. Public media is delivered through Cloudflare and may be cached outside the UK. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising. Details and your rights are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete a note or my account?
Delete a note from Manage notes, or from the note itself. Delete your account from Edit profile → Delete account. That is permanent. You can also ask for a copy of your data at privacy@useflair.app.
How do I report something or block someone?
Use Report on a note or profile, and choose the reason that fits. You can also block someone from their profile. A report does not automatically hide a note — we review it. Child-safety reports are the highest priority. Full process: Reporting and Appeals.
What if I disagree with a moderation decision?
Email support@useflair.app with “Appeal” in the subject line, your username, and what you want us to reconsider. We aim to reply within 14 days. Flair is run by one person, so the same person may look at it again.
How do I report copyright infringement?
Email copyright@useflair.app and follow the steps on the Copyright Policy page.
Can I message anyone?
No. Direct messages only work between people who have added each other.
Is there an Android app?
Not yet. Flair is on iOS first. Join the waitlist on the homepage if you want to hear when Android is ready.
